You also need to make choices you feel good about \u2013 so that you feel good about yourself.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you\u2019re constantly making unhealthy choices when it comes to food, partying, alcohol, WHATEVER, you\u2019re just not going to feel good about yourself. And even more, you\u2019re probably beating yourself up about it. Instead of letting your bad choices run your life, choose the healthy option and feel confident about your choice.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Lauryn always says that she thinks self confidence comes from the promises you keep to yourself \u2013 she learned this from Ed Mylett. When we give others the power to determine our self worth, we give others power over our overall well being. And no one deserves that power but YOU.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instead of valuing yourself by what others think of you, choose to value yourself anyway. Know that you are worthy of someone\u2019s time, respect, and love. And realize that those who choose put you down, degrade you, and make you feel unworthy and not worth your time, energy, or effort.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How to stop seeking validation from others:<\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">+ Have confidence in yourself, and know you are worthy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">+ Avoid comparing yourself and\/or your life to someone else\u2019s.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">+ Don\u2019t measure yourself on the basis of social media likes, comments, etc.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Set Boundaries.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once you get to know yourself more, you\u2019ll realize what actions or things you like and dislike. Setting emotional, mental and physical boundaries protects our sense of self. Learn to say no when something doesn\u2019t align with your values and needs. Don\u2019t do something for others that makes you feel miserable just to make them happy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It also isn\u2019t selfish to want and need something in a certain way from someone. It\u2019s okay to tell them that this is how you want it done because it aligns with you. If they can\u2019t accommodate or follow a compromise for you, it is not selfish to say no.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How to set boundaries:<\/span><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">+ Get to know yourself, explore what works and what doesn\u2019t.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">+ Communicate your boundaries clearly with others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">+ Learn to say no.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">+ Be prepared for pushback, not everyone will be happy about it but be firm about your boundaries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">+ Build confidence with practice, start slowly introducing your boundaries and get yourself familiar with how it can be properly communicated.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">+ Respect others\u2019 boundaries, lead by example.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maintain a positive mindset.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And lastly, you have to keep things positive. It\u2019s normal to feel down and out sometimes, but a constant cycle of dread and self-consciousness is super unhealthy. Replace bad habits with new, positive ones and work on surrounding yourself with those positive people we mentioned earlier. Instead of dwelling on negative thoughts, find a new distraction.
